Software for Students

Recommended Software

In addition to the latest version of Edge, Firefox, or Chrome, the following software is recommended:

• Zoom for Harvard
  • Set up your Zoom account 
  • Download Zoom for your computer.
• Adobe Acrobat Pro: PDF Reader via the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Harvard offers the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite for free for all students, including Adobe Acrobat Pro, and 20+ desktop mobile and applications for photography, design, video, web, and more!
    • Getting Started with Adobe Creative Cloud | Harvard IT
    • Open apps using the Creative Cloud Desktop App
• Microsoft Office 2016 or higher
  • Harvard provides a free Office 365 subscription.
• Harvard also provides a VPN (Virtual Private Network) service, should you need it.

If you are a part of a research lab, or need research software for other purposes, please consult our list of supported research software.
