Here are some particularly useful things that you should know about Peer Review assignments in Canvas:
- Manually or Automatically Assign Reviews
- Peer reviews can be manually assigned per student by a TF/faculty, or they can be automatically assigned by Canvas.
- Automatically assigning reviews also allows you to specify the amount of reviews to be completed by students.
- Anonymous Peer Reviews
- If you would like to have peer reviews appear anonymously to students, this option can be enabled to hide the names of the students who have conducted the reviews, and the names of the students who are being reviewed.
- Intra-Group Peer Reviews
- For group assignments with peer review enabled and automatically assigned, the option for intra-group peer reviews becomes available.
- This type of peer review allows group members to review one another, but by default this capability is disabled and preventing students from within a group from reviewing one another.
Note: Students do not receive a grade for completing the peer review itself, but they can be assigned a grade for the peer review by creating a No Submission assignment and manually assigning grades.
