Canvas updates - February 2021

A small set of new features are now active in Canvas:

  • In the Gradebook, the View menu includes the View Ungraded as Zero option, which allows instructors to view student grades as if all ungraded assignments were worth zero points. Admins can disable this under Feature Options in the account settings.
  • The Gradebook importer allows instructors to modify override scores via Gradebook CSV imports.
  • The Rich Content Editor -- what one see when one edits a page -- now includes a pretty HTML editor in addition to the raw HTML editor. A welcome change! Remember too that the Cidilabs plugin has an "Advanced HTML Editor" that allows one to select elements in the page to view only that HTML block and gradually expand/contract the tree as required.

Stay tuned for more new features dropping March 20 including webcam assignment submissions, the ability to request students "redo" their assignment via the SpeedGrader, file preview enhancements, and the ability to create New Quizzes directly in Modules.
